Who Can Sign Up?
All kids in grades 1 through 4 who have a desire to become a better basketball player and learn about the game! Kids from Pella and all surrounding communities are encouraged to sign up!
How will teams be formed?
In the first two weeks of practice, players will be evaluated as to their skill level to insure teams are as balanced as possible. Equal playing time is strictly enforced.
When do we practice and where?
All practices will be held at TBD on Mondays and Thursdays. Grades 3-4 girls will practice from 3:45-4:45 and the 3rd and 4th grade boys will practice from 4:45-5:45.
When are the games and where?
All games will be at TBD gym in Pella. We will have 4 weeks of games starting on Saturday, Jan. 6th.
How much does it cost and where do I send payment?
The cost is $150 for the 3rd and 4th grade and $99 for 1st and 2nd grade. ADD $15 for a uniform. Please send payment to: Pella Junior Hoops, c/o Doug Diers, 1200 Washington St., Pella, IA 50219
What is the refund policy?
A 100% refund is offered - if the request is made before the program begins. Once practices have started, no refund will be offered.
Who are the coaches?
Doug Diers will be the main instructor for all of the teams. Doug has been coaching youth basketball in Iowa for over 10 years and currently runs Shoot-It Basketball Academy in Pella. Other area coaches along with current high school or college kids will be hired also.
Is this AAU?
No! This is not a traveling AAU team. All practices and games will be held in Pella. Travel teams may be formed after the season is over.
How are games structured and how long are they?
Each team will play 1 game each Saturday. Starting times will be 8:30 or 9:30. All of the games will be officiated and coached.
Is there a registration deadline?
