Girls Grade 3rd-4th
Junior Hoops Basketball is an opportunity for girls in 3rd and 4th grade to learn the game of basketball at an advanced level. Sessions will stress skill development with unique drills that teach the kids how to play and enjoy the game. Other features will include:
- · Basic and advanced ball handling
- · Proper defensive fundamentals and technique
- Proper passing and offensive moves
- Proper shooting form and repetition
- · Lowered hoops for younger ages (9 ½ feet)
- · Offensive plays and moves
- · Christ centered atmosphere!
SCHEDULE: Nov. 27 – Jan. 27
Monday & Thursday nights (4:45-5:45)
GAMES: Saturday games on Jan. 6, 13, 20, 27
Girls will play at 12:00-1:00
LOCATION: Mon/Thurs @ Pella rec. Saturday games @ Madison Elem.
COST: $150-- plus $15 if you need a Pella Junior Hoops jersey (make checks payable to "Pella Junior Hoops")
INSTRUCTOR: Doug Diers - Shoot-It Basketball Academy
Games will be officiated, full court contest. High School rules will be followed except for a few modifications. The idea is to expose the kids to REAL basketball and enjoy the experience. Teams will be chosen during the first practices in December depending on talent. Hoops will be lowered to accommodate the appropriate age. (9 feet for the girls)
Players will be pitted against the appropriate age levels during games whenever possible.
